    Swine herdspeople work on hog farms. Their work includes breeding, weaning, feeding, and medicating the animals. They also clean and sterilize pens and buildings, maintain farm machinery, and cultivate feed crops.

    Training Hours: Complete 5,520 hours of on-the-job training and 480 hours of in-class technical training for this apprenticeship.

    Dairy herdspeople make sure their dairy cows stay healthy and productive by planning, breeding, feeding, milking, preparing feed mixtures, and medicating animals. They operate and maintain farm machinery that sterilizes milking equipment, and clean farm buildings. Some herdspeople also cultivate and harvest feed crops.
