Dairy herdspeople make sure their dairy cows stay healthy and productive by planning, breeding, feeding, milking, preparing feed mixtures, and medicating animals. They operate and maintain farm machinery that sterilizes milking equipment, and clean farm buildings. Some herdspeople also cultivate and harvest feed crops.
