    On Wednesday February 8, 2023, from 10AM to 3PM, the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario Employment and Immigrant Services is proud to host a Job Fair at the Elm Place Mall, Unit 164-40 Elm St (former Designer Depot). This Job Fair will give job seekers the chance to meet face-to-face with over 25 recruiters and hiring businesses throughout various sectors, such as Retail, Hospitality, Construction, Trades, Automotive, Mining, Child Care, and more.

    The Youth Job Connection Program is a great initiative to help youth learn more about their skills and abilities, by exploring their career options. A year-round component, which provides intensive employment supports for youth aged 15 to 29 who are not in employment, education or training. A summer component, which equips youth between 15-18 years of age with summer, part-time and after-school job opportunities. Supports include (are not limited to): – Pre-employment training to assist in job and career related readiness – Job matching and job placements – On the job support from our experienced Consultants

  • Personal Support Worker Program

    Training

    This program trains students to offer personal care and home management services to clients in community or institutional settings. Personal support workers provide services to clients with physical, cognitive, emotional, and behavioural challenges. The program is delivered through community placements and in the home environment simulation lab which is equipped with high-end fidelity audio/visual equipment and interactive mannequins. PSWs are highly sought after as health care providers, working collaboratively as part of the health care team or in a supported independent living environment.

  • Practical Nursing Program

    Training

    Registered Practical Nurses have a role in society that offers a range of choices and opportunities. You will make a difference. During the five semesters in the Practical Nursing program, you will learn the concepts and skills related to health and nursing. You will also learn nursing practices and interventions in specific health situations. In addition, you will have the opportunity to study courses such as anatomy and physiology, communication, clinical nursing informatics and practice nursing skills in both the nursing and simulation lab. After successfully completing Fleming’s five-semester diploma program, graduates are eligible to write the national examinations with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and become registered to practice in Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse.
