Mobile crane operators operate machines designed to lift and move extremely heavy or awkward objects such as machinery, cargo, or construction supplies. Mobile cranes are smaller than tower cranes and have wheels for easy mobility. Operators drive the crane to sites, position it properly, block and stabilize it if necessary, and perform lifts safely.

Tower crane operators maintain and operate tower cranes. Tower cranes are used to move machinery, materials, and other large objects at construction sites and industrial yards. Operators manipulate several pedals and levers to rotate the crane and raise and lower its boom and loadlines.
